earring commission

leave a comment »

Mom’s coworker lost one of her favorite earrings so when she saw my mother rocking out a necklace I made with some Celtic knotwork beads, she quickly asked if I had anymore. I did! So she commissioned me to make a pair to replace the set she lost!

On the left, the original earring. My new pair is on the right.

Unfortunately, it was short notice and I didn’t have time to match the crystal up a little better. But, she was happy which means I was happy!

Inspired by this lovely project, I made one for my aunt who is recuperating after a nasty fall.

My version!

Cost of project: Less than $2!
Pumpkin – $1
Spanish Moss – $1 for a bag, only tiny bit used
Pages – Free from school library (Not the Belgariad! It was some history book!)
Mod Podge – In my stash already
Stick – Free from my tree

Okay, these Tree of Life pendants are like jewelry crack. I can’t stop making them!!

Forest of three more:

All are made with copper wire.

Purple colored copper wire with glass and acrylic beads

Blue colored copper wire with glass pearls

Brown colored copper wire with unakite chips.

I’m quite in love with making these. 🙂

New steampunk choker I put together.

Cameo and gear are from Michaels. Wings are from Etsy. Choker ribbon and findings were from Joanns. With coupons and clearance, I’d say the piece cost me about $3 to make… which is good because it was one of my first times working with E6000 and the charm is a little messy around the edges. I may try to clean it up with my exacto knife a little later.
